Greg and Julie both grew up in Vancouver, BC and were married in 1994. In 2001, with his experience in architecture, Greg began to volunteer on short term mission teams with Engineering Ministries International (eMi) where he received the call into missions. In 2005 the Youngs moved with their three children (Caitlin, Cameron, and Connor) to Calgary so Greg could serve full time in eMi's Canada office (www.emicanada.org).
Today, as Executive Director of eMi Canada, Greg continues to lead teams of volunteer design professionals overseas to design facilities and infrastructure so that the ministries eMi serves can operate safe and sustainable schools, orphanages, churches, seminaries, and medical facilities. Greg also works to mobilize Canadians in the areas of Disaster Response, Construction Management and Vocational Education. Julie works as a physiotherapist at the Peter Lougheed Centre Hospital. She has also used her skills to serve on mission projects in Peru and Haiti with Medical Ministry International.
